Referred to as “Yong-Yung”, Bamboo salt is made by putting sea salt in a bamboo tube, covering it with red clay, and roasting it nine times at a high temperature of up to 2,400 degrees.”Master Insan”, Dr. Kim Il-hoon, who first made bamboo salt, found a method during his lifetime but was unable to complete “Yong-Yung” purple salt due to technical limitations in raising the temperature of the furnace to over 2,000 degrees. Afterward, there was a time when research on bamboo salt was almost stopped, but Master Dohae continued to complete Master Insan’s teachings. As a result of learning welding himself and visiting numerous foundries, he discovered a method that could produce ultra-high temperatures of over 2400 degrees, and that is how Dohae’s Yong-Yung purple bamboo salt came into the world.Master Dohae is the direct disciple and THE ONLY successor of Insan Kim Il-hoon. Dohae started his journey with Master Insan back in 1987 when he was an 18-year-old boy at the time.
